22nd April - What a fantastic winter season, just returned from a Chamonix to Zermatt Haute Route with Andy & Geoff to flight chaos and some enforced time off. The snow at altitude is great and we're looking forward to a couple of weeks of Mt Blanc ascents and steep skiing before winding down the bindings and waxing the skis for the last time. We've been keeping you up to date via twitter this year - hope it's been useful as to where we've been and where the snow was good. Summer season is looking pretty full up at the moment, so if you want any dates then get in contact very soon. Also got dates and prices up on the site for Mt Vinson, Antarctica expedition 2010/2011

20th January - Don't know where the winter is going to, we're already in 2010 (Happy New Year) and we've been very busy. Also judging by the twitter feed (click on link at the top for daily updates) the snow (if not the visibility) has so far been excellent. Having a great week this week with blue skies and powder snow with Ken, Sam, Paul, Duncan, Alan, Matt and John on a Ski Club Freshtracks week. It's snowing tonight in Chamonix, so looking forward to another great powder day tomorrow.

21st November - KMF 2009 was fantastic this year despite the rain and flooding which affected most of Cumbria. With a great line-up of films, lectures and a slamming Saturday Night Party, with me making a cameo appearance on the wheels of steel. Cheers to fellow Dj's Stu "The Farmer" Millar and Matt Sharman and also to everyone who worked at and visited the Festival over the weekend. Finally thanks to Henry for the photo www.henryiddon.com. If you missed it this year-see you next year.

15th November - I've left the snow behind in Chamonix- there has been quite a few people out and about getting some early doors touring on their skis. However, I'm in the UK, on my way to the Kendal Mountain Festival, THE Tribal Gathering of the year for mountain enthusiasts and it's kicking off in less than 3 days. I'll be there heading up the presenting team with my colleague and fellow mountain guide Andy Perkins. There's a superb line-up of films, lectures, literary events etc - that it will be difficult to see everything - check out my twitter for some of my recommendations of what to look out for. If you see me there, come and say hello.

31st October - Happy Halloween - been out in the mountains the last couple of days with some of the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team. They are here in Chamonix on a training event. We had a great day ice climbing on the Mer de Glace on Saturday - click here to see photos - and the traverse of the Aiguille d'Entrêves today - click here to see photos.

18th October - First snow of the winter arrived today. I've been busy updating the website and dusting off my skis ready for another season. If you're interested in hitting the slopes then do get in touch as bookings are currently being confirmed.
