We run a series of 3 day programmes throughout the Winter for those who want to venture away from the pistes in safety.
Our Intro programme is for those who wish to gain an introduction to off-piste skiing and ski touring. We will spend our time finding the best slopes for learning, where we can master the skills of skiing off-piste. We will also cover the technical skills you need to make this exhilarating sport as safe as possible, for example, avalanche awareness, glacier skiing, crevasse rescue and use of touring and safety equipment. No previous off-piste experience is required. A confident open parallel stance on-piste will be enough to start you off, together with a sense of humour!
The Adventure programme is for those who have mastered the basics of off-piste skiing and who would like to improve their technique and learn more about venturing further into the high mountains. We will spend our time on some of the finest runs that the Chamonix backcountry has to offer. Your Guide will improve your technique in various snow conditions and also cover all the technical skills required.
With both programmes being 3 days duration, they can be taken as part of a week’s holiday. As the Intro programme runs before the Adventure programme it is easy to combine both programmes together to provide a progressive week of backcountry instruction and coaching, but either way they provide an excellent start as a warm up for the Haute Route or for all future touring adventures.
